The Jags crashed out of the Aberdeenshire Shield tonight with a 3-1 defeat to the Broch. The Jags started in a similar way to the league fixture with a couple of good chances sent wide before a long ball up the park found Scott Barbour in behind the defence who fired home the opener for the hosts. The game swung in the home sides favour and Kevin Main to make a great save along with Darren Wood having to clear the ball off the line which struck the woodwork in the process. The Jags equalised through a corner when Paul Napier tapped in a rebound. The Broch took the lead over 3 minutes into injury time when a free kick into the box was only cleared as far as Allan Hale who blasted home. In the second half any hopes of the Jags coming back were dashed when Gary Clark was shown a straight red for dissent towards the referee. The Broch quickly took advantage of having an extra man and a corner was headed clear only as far as Dean Cowie who blasted yet another fine finish for Fraserburgh. The Jags looked to pull a goal back but it was not to come as the Broch go through to the semi-finals where they will face either Huntly or Inverurie Locos.
